Eichstadt Named NAHL 1st Star of the Week

On Monday, the North American Hockey League named their Divisional Stars of the Week. At the top of the list was Aberdeen Wings defenseman #20 Dillon Eichstadt (D-Bemidji, MN) named 1st Star of the Week.

Eichstadt receives the honors after an impressive week of play including three games, New Year's Eve at Bismarck and home over the weekend for series with 1st place Austin. Tuesday night, he offered an assist to a goal from #4 Jake Horton (D-Plymouth, MN). But even more note worthy was his 4 assists against the Austin Bruins. Friday night, he had a shot on goal that was tipped in by #21 Bjorn Sigurdarson (F-Reykjavik, Iceland). Eichstadt currently leads the Aberdeen Wings in assists this season with 22.

Receiving an honorable mention this week was Aberdeen Wings defenseman #4 Jake Horton (D-Plymouth, MN). Over the three games last week he tallied one goal and three assists. The goal came Tuesday night at the Bismarck for the New Year's Eve game in which Horton beat Bobcats goaltender Aaron Nelson on a breakaway. Saturday night, in a 4-2 win for the Wings, Horton offered three assists to goals from Sigurdarson, #11 TJ Roo (F-Coon Rapids, MN), and #15 Jordan Heller (F-Bemidji, MN).
