Alyx Fonseca Signs With Wings

The Aberdeen Wings have signed AAA forward Alyx Fonseca.

The Aberdeen Wings of the North American Hockey League announced today the signing of forward Alyx Fonseca, currently of the Ohio Blue Jackets (AAA-U18). The tender agreement is for the 2014-2015 season. The 6'0", 170-pound forward is in his 2nd season with the Blue Jackets of the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League.

"We are excited that Alyx has decided to continue his development in Aberdeen," stated Francis Anzalone, Associate Head Coach & Director of Player Personnel for the Aberdeen Wings. "Alyx is a skilled forward who is creative in tight spaces, competes, and also brings an element of grit to the table which is very important in this league."

Fonseca, a native of Detroit, MI tallied 7 goals, 13 assists, and 20 points through 40 regular season games last season with the AAA Blue Jackets.

"He is a player our staff liked towards the end of last season and we feel he has shown improvement through the first few months of this season," added coach Anzalone. "I think Alyx is a good fit for the Wings and I believe our program will be a good fit for him."

The Aberdeen Wings are currently 14-9-1 on the season, one point out of 2nd place. This weekend the Wings play a split home-and-home series traveling to Minot on Friday to take on the Minotauros and hosting Minot on Saturday at the Odde Ice Center. Reserved seating $12, General admission $10.
