Draft Day Success For Wings!

The 2018 NAHL Entry Draft was held Tuesday afternoon.  Your Aberdeen Wings had a total of 9 picks over 6 rounds of the possible 16 round draft.  The Draft is for Amateur players less than 21 years of age on December 31, 2018 who are not listed on an NAHL team roster or are listed on an NAHL team roster but played less than (10) NAHL regular season and/or playoff games during the 2017-18 season and did not accept a tender from an NAHL team prior to the 2018 NAHL Entry Draft are eligible for selection in the draft.

In round 1 with the 19th overall pick the Wings selected Matthew Kirwan a 6′ 190 lb forward from Dewitt, NY last season he played with the Avon Old Farms and put up 20 points (9 goals, 11 assists) in 18 games played.

With the 34th over pick the Wings selected Max Salpeter a 6’4 205 lb defenseman from St. Albert, AB.  He spent last season with the Notre Dame Hounds in 54 games played Max had 4 goals and 15 assists (19 pts) and 124 PIM.

With their 2nd pick in the 2nd round and the 43rd overall pick the Wings selected Pierson Brandon a 6′ 155lb defenseman from Irvington, NY.  Pierson spent last season with the North Jerssey Avs 18.  He had 20 points (2 goals & 18 assists) in 44 games played with 58 penalty minuted.

Mitchel Machlitt was selected in the 3rd round with the 52nd overall pick.  Mitchel is a 6’1 169lb Center from Maple Grove, MN.  He played for Avesta BK last season where he played in 42 games with 18 goals and 29 assists (47 points) and 28 PIM.

With the 67th overall pick Aberdeen selected Michael Krupinski a 6’2 192lb defenseman from Murphy, TX.  Michael spent last season with the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders.  in 37 games played he has 6 goals and 4 assists (10pts) and 63 PIM.

Thomas Rocco was the 86th overall selection for the Wings.  The 5’9 165lb forward from Downington, PA spent last season playing for the P.A.L Jr. Islanders.  Last season Thomas put up 6 goals, 13 assists (19pts) in 46 games played with 6 PIM.

The 91st overall selection was Kyle Mandleur a 6’3 260lb forward from East Brunswick, NJ.  Kyle Spent last season with the Mercer Chiefs and put up 17 goals and 17 assists (34 pts) in 15 games played with 38 PIM.

With the 115th selection Aberdeen picked 5’7 151lb forward Connor Beatty.  Connor is a Concord, NH native who played for the Rockland Nationals last season.  After 55 games played Connor had 13 goals and 18 assists (31pts) and 77 PIM.

With their final selection and the 139th overall selection the Wings took Braiden Dorfman, a 5’10 145lb Center from Hermitage, TN.  Braiden played last season with TPH Thunder AAA.  In 36 games played last season Braiden had 28 pts (17 goals & 11 assists) in 36 games played with 56 PIM.
