WINGS WIN 6-3 FRIDAY!

Dec 30, 2017

Your Aberdeen Wings dominated from the puck drop and left Brookings with a 6-3 victory Friday night.  John Sladic got the Wings on the board early in the first with an unassisted goal. Aberdeen appeared to have 1 if not 2 more goals that were eventually called no goals before regaining the lead with just seconds remaining in the period on a goal from Nathan Burke with Kelly & Sicoly assisting.  Adam Pitters would extend the lead in the 2nd with a goal just under 5 minutes into the frame. Dusek assisted on the goal.  Jonathan Bendorf would add one of his own on the power play minutes later as the Wings extended their lead to 4-1.  Assisting on the Bendorf goal were Strada and Burke.  Brookings would get another to finish the 2nd period with a 4-2 score.  Midway through the 3rd Riley Murphy would snipe one over the Blizzard goaltender to give the Wings back there 3 goal lead.  Brookings would add another to make things interesting.  But Evan Rochowiak would add an empty netter from Spillum to give the Wings the 6-3 win.  Gabe Vinal would get the win in net stopping 27 of the 30 shots he faced on the evening. With the win the Wings move into sole possession of first place in the tight Central Division, just 1 point ahead of Austin & Minnesota.
